Manokan Country will be closed starting today for its scheduled renovation.

According to Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, the stall owners did not comply with the compromise agreement.

They withdrew their initial statement that they would move to the temporary venue in the parking area of a shopping mall across the Manokan Country.

Benitez said he will talk to the stall owners when the closure of Manokan Country is over.

It was learned that the tenants were being proposed to be relocated to their temporary location beside a mall, just in front of the Vendor’s Plaza, so that the rehabilitation of the Manokan Country could begin.

The closure was supposed to be on July 6, but the city government extended it after the vendors first agreed to comply with the order.
