The issuance of a show-cause order against some employees of the Negros Occidental provincial government is an opportunity for them to explain their side.

This was clarified by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday, following the issuance of show-cause orders to a department head and two executive assistants at the Capitol.

“It may sound strong but, actually, it just gives you the opportunity to explain your side,” Lacson said.

Earlier, Provincial Tourism Office head Cheryl Decena was given two show-cause orders over alleged unliquidated cash advances, when she was the manager of Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary; and the inconsistent signatures on the payroll and identification cards of 13 drumbeaters hired by the provincial government for the Panaad sa Negros Festival last April.

Last week, a show-cause order was also issued against Executive Assistant IV Francis Velez for alleged overpriced furniture repairs worth P129,200 without permission from Lacson./JB, WDJ
