P2.8-M ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

A P2.8 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from a live-in partner during a buy-bust operation on Pallochina Street in Bacolod City’s Barangay Villamonte yesterday morning.

The suspects were identified as 21-year-old John Matthew Genon, a high-value individual; and 25-year-old Laurriane Libre, a street-level individual, both residents of Purok Ylac in the city’s Barangay 1.

They were arrested and taken into custody at Police Station 4.

Authorities seized 33 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 420 grams, valued at P2,856,000 from the suspects.

The illegal substances were recovered in the course of the operation that was conducted in accordance with Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspects are now facing charges related to the possession and sale of illegal drugs./JB, WDJ
