The Negros Occidental provincial government will receive the P5.82 billion National Tax Allotment (NTA) for 2025, a 19 percent increase from its share of P4.90 billion last year, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said.
Records from the provincial capitol showed the NTA for 2025 is the highest so far, amounting to P5,823,366,390.
Lacson said additional funds will be used to further push through various projects and programs initiated by the provincial government.
Among the key projects that will benefit from higher NTA is farm-to-market road, which is one of the most effective initiatives of the Capitol in addressing the needs of its constituents.
The provincial government also plans to increase its assistance to barangay officials, from P250,000 to P300,000 each.
The increased NTA will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the province’s economic development and infrastructure projects.
With this significant allocation, Lacson expressed optimism that the NTA will help boost the province’s economic growth./JB, WDJ
