A man died after his motorcycle crashed into a passenger bus at Barangay To-oy in Negros Occidental’s Himamaylan City on Sunday, June 30.

Police identified the fatality as 41-year-old Hernan Panaligan, a resident of the city’s Barangay III -Poblacion.

City police chief, Lt. Colonel Anthony Grande, said Panaligan was on his way home when he lost control of his motorcycle, which resulted in a head-on collision with the Bacolod City-bound bus.

Grande said the victim, who was not wearing a helmet, might have avoided something or dozed off along the road.

He died on the spot, while passengers inside the bus, including the driver, were unharmed.

Grande said representatives from the bus company and Panaligan’s family have already reached a settlement./WDJ
