The head of Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Negros Occidental’s Silay City has been appointed as undersecretary of the Department of Health (DOH).

Dr. Mary Ann Maestral was among the 65 newly-appointed officials in several government agencies under President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s administration.

Maestral said her new post will not leave a vacuum at TLJPH, which has recently been given its license to operate as a 200-bed hospital.

She said the hospital has been a very good breeding ground for leaders.

Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson appointed Dr. Francis Gabriel Relota as the new TLJPH chief.

Relota was a medical officer and TLJPH chief of clinics.

Lacson said Relota is ready to take over the management of the provincial hospital, telling him that he is committed to continuing the improvement of medical services at TLJPH./WDJ
