Twenty-nine houses were razed by a fire at Purok Magti-ayon in Bacolod City’s Barangay 10 early morning yesterday.
City fire marshal, Fire Superintendent Jenny Mae Masip, said 16 houses were destroyed while 13 were damaged in a fire.
More than 100 residents or 34 families were affected by the blaze as it quickly spread to most of the houses.
The firefighters were able to immediately control the blaze, which reached third alarm status.
A fire out was declared at 12:57 a.m.
No one was injured in the fire.
Masip said, based on their investigation, the fire, originated in Ramona Anoche’s house, was electrical in nature.
They discovered some faulty electrical wiring from the service entrance of Anoche’s residence.
However, this is subject to further investigation, Masip said.
