Negros Electric and Power Corporation unveils its temporary office in Bacolod City, as it prepares for the commencement of their operations in Central Negros.

Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) has recently inaugurated its temporary office in Bacolod City, indicating its readiness to start operations as the new power distribution utility in Central Negros.

Negros Power’s temporary office, located on the 2nd floor of Robinsons East Mall on Burgos Avenue in Barangay Villamonte, will house its corporate, business operations, and customer care centers.

The office opening was held on June 13, and was attended by consumer and business group leaders, managers from the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco), directors and employees, and other stakeholders.

Roel Castro, Negros Power president and chief executive officer, assured power consumers that their needs and concerns will be addressed immediately from the first day of their operations, emphasizing the company’s commitment to serving consumers.

“The opening of this office signifies our dedication to fulfilling our commitments to consumers. This office represents our headquarters and the consumers’ space,” Castro said.

He expressed confidence in Negros Power’s preparedness to deliver efficient power distribution services to the public, through their joint venture agreement with Ceneco.

Earlier, Negros Power had made significant strides in preparation for its operational launch, including the procurement of essential electrical materials, training of employees and 24/7 helpline staff, and the reinforcement of its vehicle fleet from sister company MORE Electric and Power Corporation.

The initiatives aim to ensure Negros Power’s seamless transition and readiness to serve electric consumers in Central Negros effectively.

Negros Power’s proactive measures and collaborative efforts with stakeholders reflect its commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable power services in this part of Negros.

Castro said he expects their operations will begin by August of this year, following the approval of Negros Power’s franchise by Congress, and pending the endorsement from President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer expressed optimism that Negros Power will offer improved distribution services, including affordable power rates and immediate resolution of consumers’ concerns.

Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran echoed Ferrer’s sentiments, as he anticipates a transition to a more reliable, efficient and cost-effective power supply for consumers.
