A couple was arrested during a drug buy-bust operation in Bacolod City’s Barangay Taculing early Saturday morning, May 25.

An estimated P748,000 worth of suspected shabu weighing 110 grams was recovered from the suspects — a 41-year-old man and his 28-year-old live-in partner.

City Drug Enforcement Unit head, Police Captain Joven Mogato said the man, considered a high-value individual, was the subject of their operation.

Mogato said they conducted monitoring on the couple after the police received information on their whereabouts.

He added that the live-in partner was arrested for a drug offense in 2015, but her case was dismissed.

The suspects were arrested for the same offense in Negros Occidental’s Sipalay City in 2022, but the case was dropped.

They are now facing charges in relation to Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./WDJ
