Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) head Patrick Lacson now faces a five-day suspension due to “light administrative offenses,” City Legal Office (CLO) head Romeo Carlos Ting, Jr. said yesterday.
Ting said Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez had already signed a memorandum to suspend Lacson, after two notices to explain were issued by the CLO.
For his part, Lacson said he is open to “accountability” in his work, and maintains that he did not offend anyone, leading to his suspension.
Primitivo Tabujara, head of Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) was designated as officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) for five days.
Lacson was involved in controversies after a photo surfaced on social media last month, showing a government vehicle parked at his residence without its official logo; and issued a quota memorandum for BTAO traffic enforcers to conduct five apprehensions per day, which Benitez considered as not applicable./JB, WDJ
