The Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) will recommend the City Health Office (CHO) to place quick response (QR) codes on the identification cards issued to commercial sex workers (CSWs) in the city.
CLO head Romeo Carlos Ting, Jr. said he would recommend putting QR codes on every issued CSW ID so that “they will not be recycled.”
The information on the QR codes will also include the ID bearer’s age, to ensure that they are not minors.
Earlier, the CLO, CHO and the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) conducted a joint random inspection of a commercial establishment in the city’s Barangay Singcang-Airport.
During the inspection, the team discovered that the picture on the CSW ID card had a cover.
They failed to determine if the ID bearer was really the owner.
The CHO is issuing “pink cards” as a requirement for CSWs.
Meanwhile, the BPLO said, out of the 21 establishments inspected, only five have secured business permits.
Most of the establishments that had no permits were bars.
The BPLO gave them three days to process their business permits.
If they fail to do so, a closure order will be issued to them.
The CLO said notices of violation have been served to business establishments with no permits.
Likewise, the CHO discovered that the establishments had very poor sanitation./MS, WDJ
