The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts’ secondary boys 3×3 basketball and athletics teams showed their way during the division meet held in Bacolod City over the weekend.
Led by Paul Adrian Barcelona, Jameer Angelo Gapusan, Seth Guarino, and Tobby Orbista V, the Thunderbolts 3×3 basketball team captured the gold medal with a 21-6 victory over the Alangian National High School in the finals at the Montalbo Court.
The Thunderbolts’ 3×3 basketball team, which is handled by head coach Renato Callora, Jr. and assistant coach Ryan Nabor, went undefeated to emerge on top in the regional meet.
Meanwhile, Bacolod Tay Tung High School has also emerged as the overall champion in the secondary girls track-and-field event held at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod.
Krisha Dedoyco Aguillon finished with four medals — three golds from the secondary girls 100-meter event, 100-meter hurdles, and 4×100-meter relay, as well as a silver in the 200-meter relay.
Bianca Seroy also captured three gold medals in the long jump, triple jump and 4×100-meter relay, while Angel Sanjojo also emerged with gold medals in shot put, discus throw and javelin throw events.
Regine Wong Yan finished with gold medals in the 400-meter run and 4×100-meter relay, and silver in the 4×400-meter relay, while Adriel Montalbo won two golds in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter and a silver in the 4×400-meter relay.
Annika Chua won a gold in the 4×100-meter relay and bronze medals in the 100-meter and 200-meter events. Edrianna Escultura got two silvers in the 200-meter and 4×100-meter relay and a gold in the 4×100-meter relay.
Also with gold medals for the Thunderbolts’ track-and-field team are Fate Jalandoon in the 4×100-meter relay and Sheree Uy in the javelin throw event.
The gold medal winners in the various division meets will advance to the provincial meet tentatively slated for March./ASC, WDJ
