The Silay City government will temporarily transfer market vendors as renovation works at the city public market are set to begin next month.
Mayor Joedith Gallego said more than 100 vendors will be transferred to stalls along the city’s Bonifacio Street.
Gallego said it was agreed last month that the Silay City Public Market would undergo renovation worth P300 million.
It can be recalled that the city government borrowed P1.4 billion from a state-run bank for major infrastructure projects, including P500 million for the construction of the new city hall and P300 million for a sports complex./DGB, WDJ
