A 53-year-old woman was killed while two others were injured after being hit by a pick-up truck on Araneta Street in front of the South Bacolod General Hospital in Bacolod City’s Barangay Pahanocoy on Tuesday night, February 6.

The fatality was identified as Analiza Cobrador, while the injured were Liza Cobrador and Regine Lirazan.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 70-year-old Jose Maria Macasa, a resident of Barangay Sum-ag.

According to Bacolod City Police Station 8, the victims were crossing the pedestrian lane to visit their patient at the hospital.

The pick-up truck, coming from Bangga Lourdes, was going southbound, police said.

The victims were thrown due to the impact.

Analiza succumbed to critical injuries, police said.

It is possible that the truck driver did not recognize the victims at that time.
