A four-year-old girl died after she was drowned in a pool inside a resort at Barangay Old Poblacion in Negros Occidental’s Escalante City on Saturday afternoon, February 3.

The victim, a resident of the village’s Sitio Banaba, was at the resort with her family to celebrate her cousin’s birthday, city police said.

She had been swimming in the kiddie pool when she allegedly drowned.

Despite immediate efforts by her family and the resort’s management, the victim was not revived.

She was rushed to Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in the city, but she was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician./JB, WDJ
