The southbound lane of Sum-ag bridge along Araneta Street in Bacolod City will be temporarily closed for 15 days for a road widening project.

Jose Antonio Robello, Bacolod Traffic Authority Office deputy officer-in-charge, said the bridge contractor has already finished concreting the bridge slab for the expansion project on January 31.

Robello said a curing period is required for about two weeks, and the bridge will be passable by February 15.

“Because of the temporary closure of the bridge, traffic congestion occurred along the area of Araneta Street in the said barangay. Motorists going southbound passed through one lane of Sum-ag bridge,” Robello said.

He advised city-bound motorists to travel early or take alternative roads./MS, WDJ
