Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover of P8.2 million worth of financial assistance to 41 barangays across the province for the implementation of local projects.
Each barangay received P200,000 in funds.
Among the projects lined up by the 41 villages include the construction or improvement works of covered courts and concrete bleachers, as well as infrastructure projects, such as roads, open canals, pathways, and solar-powered streetlights.
The local villages can also use the funds to purchase office equipment for the improvement of services for their residents, and rehabilitate day care centers.
The villages are also allowed to use the fund to purchase medical supplies and equipment for health centers.
Pontevedra town has the highest number of barangays that benefited from the financial assistance, with nine./DGB, WDJ
