The Bacolod City government will run after business establishments misdeclaring information in processing their business permits.
“This process has no validation. The applicants must be honest in declaring their information because if the city government finds out that they misdeclare, it will be at their own risk,” Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said.
The applicants may also be criminally held liable for misdeclaring sales income.
Meanwhile, City Legal Officer Romeo Carlos Ting, Jr. said if business owners are found guilty of misdeclaring information in their business permits, their establishments will face closure, and criminal offense will be filed against them.
Benitez said the city government now accepts online processing of business permits for convenience.
Online applicants can immediately get their permits once they comply with all requirements, he added./MS, WDJ
