A man sustained injuries after he was allegedly stabbed in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City on Sunday night, December 17.
Kabankalan police said 41-year-old Reynante dela Cruz, a resident of Barangay Talubangi’s Purok 2, sustained injuries after he was allegedly stabbed by his brother, identified as 29-year-old Jandy.
The suspect, who was allegedly intoxicated, went to the victim’s house and a heated argument ensued, leading to a physical altercation, police said.
Jandy left the house and returned armed with a knife.
The victim, in an attempt to defend himself, grabbed a machete from his home.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest and severed his forearm.
Reynante was immediately rushed to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital for medical attention.
