The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has deployed Bacolod Police Public Assistance Desks (B-PADs) beside the city churches during the nine-day “Misa de Gallo” to ensure the safety of the residents while attending Mass.

BCPO director Colonel Noel Aliño said they have launched the Ligtas Paskuhan B-PAD on Saturday, December 16, the first day of the Misa de Gallo.

Aliño said police officers who manned the assistance desks were trained to promptly cater to calls for service and respond to crime incidents.

The deployment of police officers to B-PADs ensures that access to police services is within the public’s reach, he said.

The launch was in relation to the Philippine National Police’s directive that requires BCPO’s high degree of alertness, readiness and preparedness in line with security measures and an intensified anti-criminality campaign during the holidays.

Aliño has ordered city police station commanders to increase police visibility and standby points in their respective areas of coverage./MS, WDJ
