Two individuals died after a six-wheeler truck hit their motorcycle at Barangay 21 in Negros Occidental’s Victorias City early Friday morning, November 24.
Police Major Joy Ellaga, Victorias police chief, said 23-year-old restaurant employee, Grace Telebrico, was driving a motorcycle with her employer, 40-year-old Julie Ann Broce, both residents of Victorias, and turned left from the inner lane.
As they waited for another truck to pass, a six-wheeler truck, driven by a 51-year-old resident of Cadiz City, suddenly hit them from behind.
The incident was recorded by a closed-circuit television camera.
Ellaga said the truck driver might not have seen the victims because of the rain.
The driver left his truck on the roadside and fled, she added.
However, he surrendered to the Bacolod City Police Station 6 and was turned over to Victorias police around noon.
He will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, police said./WDJ
