The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) revealed yesterday that it had seized an estimated P726,000 worth of suspected shabu in various anti-drug operations in the province from November 12 to 20.

In a weekly media briefing, NOCPPO spokesperson, Major Rhojn Darell Nigos, said they have confiscated a total of 106.8 grams of suspected shabu and arrested 23 individuals.

The NOCPPO filed additional charges against drug suspects from two anti-drug operations for violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, after the confiscation of two illegal firearms.

The provincial police also arrested 84 individuals in various anti-illegal gambling operations last week, and confiscated P10,860 in alleged gambling money.

Meanwhile, Nigos said 27 individuals have voluntarily surrendered their firearms in exchange for bags of rice as part of the NOCPPO’s “Armas Baylo Bugas.”/DGB, WDJ
