The Bacolod City government will increase the collective negotiation agreement (CNA) bonus to P30,000, from last year’s P25,000, for each qualified city government employee, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said yesterday.
Benitez said the increase was due to the Department of Budget and Management’s approval of the city government’s request for the incentive.
“CNA incentives may be granted to both management and rank-and-file employees of agencies with approved and successfully implemented CNAs in recognition of their efforts in accomplishing performance targets at lesser cost, in attaining more efficient and viable operations through cost-cutting measures and systems improvement,” part of the Budget Circular 2023-1 stated.
“In all cases, the CNA incentive shall not exceed P30,000 per qualified employee,” the circular added.
Benitez said the city is fiscally sound in terms of management.
“We are continuously generating revenues, so we should be able to adequately provide the mandated bonuses,” he said.
He said the city government reached 94 percent of the P1.465 billion target revenue for this year.
Records showed that as of October, the total revenue collection was at P1.376 billion./MS, WDJ
