The Creamline Cool Smashers overwhelmed the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, 25-19, 25-21, 25-16, to stay undefeated in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday night, November 14.

Kyle Negrito baffled the Cargo Movers’ defense with her playmaking skills as she finished with 20 excellent sets to go with seven points to be named Player of the Game for the Cool Smashers.

Diana Carlos led the way for the Cool Smashers with 15 points to go with 11 excellent digs. Jessica Galanza chipped in 11 markers, and Negrense Bernadeth Pons ended with seven as they improved to a 6-0 win-loss slate.

“I think there is no shortcut to it [win-run], but training. We study our opponent’s game, and we always try to execute our system,” Negrito said in summing up the team’s unbeaten run.

Creamline peppered the F2 Logistics with 44 attack points, 15 more than the Cargo Movers, and though the Cool Smashers gave up more blocks, 4-6, they more than made up for it by scoring 22 points off their rivals’ miscues.

Jolina dela Cruz finished with eight points. Ara Galang and Majoy Baron chipped in seven points apiece, while the Cargo Movers dropped to sixth place in the standings with a 4-3 slate.

Meanwhile, the Nxled Chameleons halted their five-game losing streak after a 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 beating of sister team Akari Power Chargers.

Rookie setter Kamille Cal was named Player of the Game after finishing with 28 excellent sets to go with eight points, including three blocks, as the Chameleons improved to 2-5 in the standings.

“We based our offense sa blockings ng Akari, sa tulong din ng coaches namin sa pagbabasa ng blockings ng kalaban, and tiwala din sa spikers,” Cal said in a post-game interview.

For their part, the Farm Fresh Foxies have finally tasted their first-ever PVL win after taking down the Quezon City Gerflor Defenders, 25-17, 25-17, 25-15. Kate Santiago top-scored with 18 points for the Foxies./ASC, WDJ
