The former head of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO), Police Major Junji Liba, has been temporarily reassigned to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters.
BCPO director, Colonel Noel Aliño, ordered Liba to be given light duties at BCPO while the investigation into BTAO continues, Lt. Colonel Ronnie Brillo, city police deputy director for administration, said.
Brillo also affirmed that the BCPO has submitted the results of their investigation into the alleged corruption practices at BTAO to Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Benitez.
However, he refused to provide additional information.
Liba was relieved from his position on Wednesday, November 1, after Benitez issued Memorandum Order 168, appointing former board member and executive assistant Patrick Lacson as BTAO officer-in-charge.
The decision stemmed from allegations of corruption inside BTAO.
In October, Councilor Al Victor Espino and BTAO building guard Abner Salvallon got into an alleged heated argument which resulted in a commotion./DGB, WDJ
