The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental assured the security of teaching personnel that will serve for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) on October 30.

Comelec-NegOcc elections supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria said there are enough police and military personnel deployed in time for the local elections.

He added that there is no need for additional deployment of police officers for the polls.

The deployment of BSKE security personnel will be on Friday, October 27.

Ananoria said some personnel have already been deployed to villages considered as election areas of concern.

The police and military will also remain on guard at the voting precincts and are not allowed to leave until the counting of ballots is over.

Some of them will conduct checkpoints and assist in transporting election paraphernalia.

Accountable election forms have been delivered to far-flung villages.

A contingency plan has also been formed in case of damaged or lacking election paraphernalia.
