An 80-year-old Japanese national died in a fire at Barangay Tabugon in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City.

His name is being withheld by the local police.

The blaze broke out at 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3.

The victim was trapped inside his burning house.

He was rushed to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.

The police are conducting an investigation into the incident./MS, WDJ
