A husband died while his wife was injured after they were shot by still unidentified suspects at the public market at Barangay Concepcion in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City early yesterday morning.

Ildefonso Medalla succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on his body, while his wife sustained a gunshot wound.

The victims were residents of the said place.

An initial investigation showed the couple were about to open their store when they discovered unidentified individuals inside the adjacent store.

Without apparent reason, they fired gunshots from an unknown caliber of firearm at the couple.

The victims were taken to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction.
