Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Colonel Noel Aliño said there will be 1,000 police officers from different police stations in Western Visayas to secure the MassKara Festival from October 7 to 22.

Aliño said the BCPO has requested the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas for the deployment of police personnel for the festival.

He added that the augmentation team is yet to arrive in Bacolod City for the send off ceremony on Thursday, October 5.

Aliño said the local police deployment is already at full blast starting yesterday.

More than 2,000 police officers will be on alert during the celebration.

The BCPO director said police kiosks will be installed on all the festival sites.

“Sa mga dadayo rito na loloko-loko, try niyo nang mahuli kayo. Hindi kayo makauwi sa lugar niyo,” Aliño said.

A “salubong” will be held at the Bacolod City Government Center grounds on Friday night, October 6./MS, WDJ
