Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez assured relocation for families affected by the rehabilitation of the Manokan Country in Reclamation Area.

Benitez said this during a media interview on Thursday, September 28, following a proposal presentation by a property developer to rehabilitate Manokan Country.

“We would like to convert it as a better tourist destination. The name will remain but the area will become beautiful,” Benitez said.

The mayor requested the Sangguniang Panlungsod for authority to sign the memorandum of agreement for a public-private partnership with the company.

The proponent will invest more than P4 billion in Manokan Country’s rehabilitation and putting up offices for business process outsourcing companies.

Benitez said almost three hectares of property will be rehabilitated, including the BAYS Center./MS, WDJ
