The Negros Occidental Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported they have recorded a significant decline in the number of dengue cases in the province this year.
Based on PHO data from January 1 to September 16, dengue cases are now at 1,077, an 80.38 percent decline compared to the 5,489 recorded last year.
The cases ranged between zero to 91 years old, with the one to 11 age group having the highest number of cases.
San Carlos City has the most number of dengue cases at 132 with two fatalities.
It was followed by Bago City at 119 with one fatality, and Silay City with 86 cases and one death./DGB, WDJ
