A man was stabbed to death due to a land dispute at Barangay Banog-Banog in Negros Occidental’s Isabela town on Monday morning, September 18.

Bienvinedo Legaspi Sr., 63 years old, a resident of the town’s Barangay Sikatuna, succumbed to stab wounds on his body, police said.

The suspect, 42-year-old Rolly Alvarez, a resident of the said place, was confined in a hospital in Bacolod City, due to hack wounds.

A police investigation showed Legaspi allegedly trespassed on Alvarez’s lot and cultivated a portion of it.

Without any hesitation, Legaspi allegedly hacked the suspect with a bolo.

Alvarez managed to evade the attack.

The suspect also grabbed his bolo, and allegedly stabbed Legaspi twice.

Legaspi was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

Alvarez was detained at the police station./MS, WDJ
