A woman’s body was found in an advanced state of decomposition along the river at Barangay Bagroy in Negros Occidental’s Binalbagan town at 11:55 a.m. on Sunday, September 17.

The victim was identified as 57-year-old Semme Olveros of Sitio Agbalangao in the town’s Barangay Amontay.

An initial investigation showed that on Friday, September 15 at around 2:00 p.m., Olveros together with her son and grandson crossed the river in Barangay Amontay’s Sitio Kabalantianan.

Police said they were swept away by the river’s strong current.
