The training for teachers who will serve as electoral board members for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) will start next week.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria said a total of 37,461 teachers will undergo training until October 21.
In Bacolod City alone, 2,700 teachers will participate in the training.
Western Visayas will have an estimated 50,000 teachers to serve as electoral board members for BSKE.
Meanwhile, non-accountable forms, such as envelopes, folders, pens, and thumbprint mats from Comelec head office, to be used for the polls, have arrived in Negros Occidental.
These are scheduled for delivery to local government units in the province.
Accountable forms, including ballots, will be delivered before the election day on October 30./DGB, WDJ
