The Bacolod City Police Office’s (BCPO) Station 7 will step-up patrols in the city’s Vista Alegre village following a series of robbery hold-up incidents that happened recently.
Station 7 commander, Police Captain Andy Ofalia, said they will increase police visibility in the area as a deterrence, particularly at the “shortcut road” heading to the sub-villages of Arao, Abada Escay and Progreso.
Ofalia advised motorists that cannot avoid the “shortcut road” to be cautious, particularly during the night.
According to police, several incidents took place in the village, including a robbery hold-up incident wherein an Indian national was victimized.
The suspects took the Indian national’s motorcycle, but it was later recovered.
The foreigner also preferred not to press charges against the suspects.
On August 21, a family riding a motorcycle was blocked by armed unidentified men and declared a hold-up./DGB, WDJ
