Three drug suspects, tagged as high value individuals, were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Purok Kabulakan in Bacolod City’s Barangay Singcang-Airport late Thursday night, August 3.
Police identified the arrested as 31-year-old Gycelle Bonagua, a resident of Barangay Marisol in Pampanga province’s Angeles City; 43-year-old Michael Ramos, an electrician, also of Angeles City; and 33-year-old Rizal Lapag, a resident of Purok Zaylan in the city’s Barangay 4.
Police Colonel Noel Aliño, Bacolod City Police Office director, said they confiscated 1.3 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P8,840,000 from the suspects.
A drug paraphernalia and a .45 caliber pistol with five live bullets were also seized.
Aliño said the pistol will undergo ballistic examination to determine if it would match with the firearms used in the recent shooting incidents in the city.
He added that they are currently looking at the links to identify where the suspects get their supplies of illegal drugs and transshipment points.
Police found out that Bonagua was previously a member of the Cuadra drug group in Negros, and she served as the suspects’ contact in Metro Manila.
They are currently detained at Police Station 8 and are now facing criminal charges./DGB, WDJ
