A man was shot to death at Barangay Orong in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City on July 26.

Raul Deguitos Sr., 56 years old, succumbed to a gunshot wound, city police said.

Police identified the suspect as 50-year-old Julito Meot.

Initial investigation revealed Deguitos, who was under the influence of alcohol, went to the house of Meot’s son, carrying a bolo and causing alarm and scandal.

A heated argument occurred, before Deguitos was shot on his head using a homemade shotgun, resulting in his death.

Meot voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Thursday, July 27.

He is already in the custodial facility of the police station./WDJ
