The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bacolod City will accept the filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) at one of the malls in the city.

Elections officer Kathrina Trinio Caña announced that the Comelec-Bacolod office, along San Juan Street beside the BAYS Center, will no longer be the venue for COC filings.

She said the filing will be held at Robinsons Place Bacolod from August 28 to September 2, after Comelec head office approved their request.

Caña explained that due to limited area at their office, they needed to change the venue to accommodate candidates for the upcoming BSKE on October 30.

Under Comelec Resolution No. 10902, the election period will be from August 28 to November 29, including a gun ban.
