The Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa)-Prime Water has officially confirmed its participation in the bulk water project which aims to serve the localities in the northern part of Negros Occidental.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said Baciwa-Prime Water sent a letter of intent through General Manager Mona Dia Jardin, expressing their commitment to acquire 10 million liters of water supply to meet the increasing demand of consumers.
Lacson also announced that an investor’s forum for the project is scheduled on August 10, where five companies have confirmed to invest in the bulk water project of the provincial government.
These companies include Aboitiz InfraCapital, Manila Water, Suez Water Technologies, Bulacan Bulk Water of San Miguel Corporation, and Genesis Water Technologies.
With Baciwa-Prime Water’s confirmation to participate in the bulk water project, the number of localities to benefit from the project has increased to six, including the cities of Bacolod, Talisay, Silay, and Victorias, and the towns of E.B. Magalona and Manapla.
Lacson said they want the Bacolod City government to also be part of the project to address the rising demand and water consumption on a daily basis./DGB, WDJ
