The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) committee on transportation will ask for clarification from Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) head, Police Major Junji Liba, over traffic ordinance discrepancies in the city.

Committee chair, Councilor Al Victor Espino said the SP passed a resolution last week to hold a conference with Liba.

Liba said in a radio interview that they could not implement traffic ordinances due to some discrepancy because “kulang-kulang ang mga ordinansa.”

Espino said he couldn’t accept what he heard.

The SP, which approved the resolution, unanimously calls for a committee conference with Liba for clarification.

However, there was no scheduled date for the meeting as they waited for Liba’s reply to the invitation.

Espino said the committee wants to know the traffic rules and regulations that have discrepancies and why the BTAO can’t implement these.

“Depende lang ina sang pag-interpret sang nagabasa sang ordinansa,” Espino said./MS, WDJ
