Two individuals were injured in a stabbing incident at Barangay Masulog in Negros Occidental’s La Castellana town on Saturday night, July 8.
Town police said 26-year-old Wincislao Calago, Jr. and 19-year-old Cris Mark Cabonilas, both residents of the said place, were having a drinking session together with friends.
Calago allegedly challenged Edgar Cabonilas to fight, but the latter refused and told him to go home.
An hour later, Calago returned and a heated argument ensued between them.
Suddenly, Calago allegedly hacked the suspect using a cane cutter (espading), hitting his head which caused a minor wound, police said.
They added that Cris allegedly stabbed Calago in his chest using a bladed weapon.
Calago was able to run but he was chased by Cris and stabbed several times, hitting different parts of his body.
The two were taken to the La Castellana Rural Health Unit for medical treatment and were transferred to Corazon Locsin Memorial Regional Hospital./MS, WDJ
