Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao vows to get former Brave CF bantamweight champion Stephen Loman in tip-top shape for his highly-anticipated world title shot against ONE bantamweight world champion Fabricio Andrade.
Loman, 31 years old, scored the biggest win in his career when he dominated ex-world champion Bibiano Fernades last November.
Though ONE Championship is yet to announce a date, the no. 2 ranked Loman is next for Andrade as previously announced by the promotion.
“Everything has to be on point for Stephen come the day of the fight itself,” Sangiao stated.
“Stephen is an exceptional athlete with immense talent and potential. He has been training tirelessly, refining his skills and sharpening his techniques. We are leaving no stone unturned in our preparations for this fight,” he added.
Loman, 17-2 as a professional mixed martial artist, has impressively won all three of his fights under the ONE Championship banner ever since signing with the promotion.
According to Sangiao, it is only a matter of time before his ward gets a shot at gold.
“They have already announced Stephen is next for the world title shot. We’re just waiting for the go-signal. I told Stephen that he needed to prep because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We know Stephen’s a proven champion,” Sangiao said. (GMA Integrated News)
