A senior citizen was detained for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the illegal possession of firearm.

Felizardo Rivera, 79 years old, a resident of Barangay Canjusa in Negros Occidental’s Pulupandan town was arrested at his residence on Wednesday night, July 5.

Pulupandan police said Rivera’s daughter, Roselyn, went to the local police station and requested for assistance that her father allegedly destroying their bamboo fence. 

When she decided to confront her father, she saw him allegedly tucking a gun into his waist. 

Upon arrival at the suspect’s house, police recovered from his possession a caliber .38 revolver with ammunition./MS, WDJ
