Three women were arrested for illegal gambling in separate police operations at Barangay Lag-asan in Negros Occidental’s Bago City on Tuesday afternoon, July 4.

Arrested were 49-year-old Melanie Ortega, 31-year-old Beverly  Lobrido and 44-year-old Mary Ana Mae Namia, all residents of the city’s Barangay Taloc.

Municipal Trial Court Judge Aireen Bonghanoy recommended a bail of P30,000 for temporary liberty of each suspect, for violation of Presidential Decree 1602.

The suspects were in the custody of the police station./MS, WDJ
