A construction worker was shot to death at Purok Ilaya in Bacolod City’s Barangay Cabug on Saturday afternoon, June 17.

Police identified the fatality as Jury dela Cruz, a resident of the village’s Purok Ilaya, and a native of Barangay Isio in Negros Occidental’s Cauayan town.

Police Station 9 commander, Captain Michael Tuburan said at around 1:00 p.m., Dela Cruz and two others were hanging out at a village chairman’s house when an unidentified suspect suddenly entered and shot the victim twice.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to his wounds on his back and head.

The police are still conducting an investigation into the motive behind the crime./DGB, WDJ
