The Social Security System (SSS) prepares to file criminal cases against five delinquent employers in Negros Occidental’s San Carlos City, that failed to provide clear benefits for their employees.

Dr. Lila Benedian, SSS Visayas West 1 Division vice president, said 24 delinquent employers in San Carlos were apprehended by the SSS following the implementation of the state insurer’s Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign.

The employers violated Republic Act (RA) 8282, or the Social Security Act of 2018, as amended by RA 11199, the SSS said.

This is the third time the RACE operation was conducted, resulting in the apprehension of eight employers in February and ten in April.

For this month, six employers were given 15 days to respond to the show cause order.

Six of them have agreed they will pay contributions in full, while seven settled for installments.

However, the other five are liable to face criminal charges./DGB, WDJ
