A former member of the Philippine Army’s Scout Rangers was shot to death by four gunmen at Barangay 3 in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City late Thursday night, June 15.
Authorities identified the fatality as 46-year-old Kenneth Ababao of the village’s Cordova Street, while the two suspects were alias “Adok,” 40 years old, and 38-year-old Bonie Medez, both residents of neighboring Ilog town’s Barangay Dancalan.
The remaining two suspects have yet to be identified.
An initial investigation by the city police showed Ababao was having a drinking session with friends when the suspects opened fire at him.
He was dead on arrival after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
Police are still trying to establish the motive in the shooting.
A manhunt operation against the suspects is still ongoing./DGB, WDJ
