The Bacolod City Local Market Committee (LMC) plans to re-raffle the remaining 34 stalls at the Libertad Market’s Annex Building for vendors.
The LMC is set to hold a meeting next week to finalize the raffle date and to identify the venue for the night market for vendors who did not avail of the stalls, City Administrator Pacifico Maghari III said.
The market council conducted the second raffle on Thursday, June 8, in which 57 stalls were raffled.
A total of 229 stalls have been subjected to a raffle to accommodate the vendors applying to avail spaces, and for a fair and just accommodation.
Of the 287 vendors, there were less than 100 who were disqualified because they were not able to show the required documents during the raffle.
Maghari explained they failed to show their certificates of residency and government-issued identification cards.
He said the first raffle was suspended due to a commotion last March./MS, WDJ
