A man was shot to death by still unidentified gunmen at Barangay Carabalan in Negros Occidental’s Himamaylan City late Friday night, June 2.
Michael Soledad, 36 years old, a resident of the said place, was in a drinking session with friends inside his home when two unidentified gunmen approached his wife, Himamaylan deputy police chief, Captain Joelan Vinzon said.
They asked the wife about the whereabouts of alias Kulot, but Soledad replied instead.
The suspects opened fire at him and immediately fled the crime scene.
Soledad was rushed to Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in the city, but he was dead on arrival.
Two empty 9mm shells were recovered from the crime scene.
Police believe the murder is connected to the recent insurgency in the city./DGB, WDJ
