A barangay tanod was shot dead while driving his tricycle at Barangay E. Lizares in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City late Friday night, May 19.

Police identified the fatality as 49-year-old Dennis Tribaco, a resident of the city’s Barangay Zone 10.

Talisay police chief, Lt. Colonel Cenon Vargas said the victim and his wife were heading to Bacolod-Silay Airport to pick-up a family member.

Vargas said two still unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen trailed them.

The suspects opened fire at Tribaco, killing him on the spot.

His wife was unharmed.

Three empty shells of unidentified caliber were recovered at the crime scene.
